miss_k_reviews Let this music take you on a journey. . .

Fancy the kind of music that weaves its way into your head and blossoms from one beautiful moment to the next? This is your kind of album. The classical influences make for a refreshing sound that pays tribute to the past but also lives as its own super-being. Just lovely music to listen to and a wonderful introduction to the music of Black Crown. Favorite track: Belt of Rust.

Fabrizio Paterlini My good friend Thom Carter will never stop to amaze me. This "Black Crown" project, has in the "ebow guitar" its unique touch: "Bloom" (my favourite song) is like talking a walk on the beach during sunrise, with the sea gently touching your feet. Great work Thom! Favorite track: Bloom.

about

BLACK CROWN – ‘KINGDOM’.

'Kingdom' is the meditative and uplifting debut album by Black Crown, an instrumental music project by Thom Carter.

Making extensive use of the haunting, elegiac sound of the E-bow and of multi-track looping and recording software, ‘Kingdom’ by Black Crown brings together the worlds of experimental electronic and acoustic music.

The six tracks on the album each develop from small motifs and repetitive cells into swirling, reverb-washed soundscapes of emotion, before returning to their minimalist origins. Although not classically trained, Carter began a period of research into music harmony and theory in his early 20’s that enabled him to read and write notation, heavily influencing the composition of the album.

Black Crown’s ‘Kingdom’ draws on influences from the natural world and the city, Baroque and sacred music, as well as from Carter’s own Deist beliefs. The work is the outcome of deep personal crisis and eventual spiritual renewal, and is intended primarily for meditation, and private reflection.

A 19 page e-book to accompany the release is also included in the download and is also available separately from here: ia341021.us.archive.org/1/items/BlackCrown-kingdomEbook/BlackCrownkingdomEbookIii.pdf
